Introducing the Road To The Horse Class of 2015

A colt on the 6666 Ranch is not born by chance. Each colt is a product of generations of meticulous planning and decades of study. Generations in the making, the AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch represents the finest American Quarter Horse bloodlines in the world.

Hand selected by the 6666 Ranch Horse Division Manager, Dr. Glenn Blodgett, these untouched geldings celebrate their third birthday in 2015. This elite Remuda of geldings are not only historic in their breeding, they will make history in 2015 by being the leading stars in the richest Colt Starting World Championship ever.

At the commencement of Road to the Horse 2015, a group of lucky fans will be randomly drawn from the entire list of Road to Horse 2015 ticket purchasers. Those lucky fans will then each select a horse from the AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch. The fan who picked the highest scoring colt at Road to the Horse 2015 will receive a check for $10,000.

Notes from Dr. Glenn Blodgett:

“This colt represents both cow and race bloodlines. We have been crossing cow horses on race bloodlines to bring in new blood in the cow horse line. We also like a bigger horse on the ranch and we like the speed of race bloodlines. There are several colts in the RTTH 2015 AQHA Remuda that are represented this way and we have seen this cross be very successful at Road to the Horse.

The dam’s sire, TANQUERY GIN was one of the all-time great horses on the 6666 Ranch, he was a modern ranch horse sire. In my opinion he had the greatest positive influence on our program up till now, because of both the development of A.I. in breeding and his long life.

His colts are very easy to get along with and they were particularly good on the ranch in regards to size and stamina. Sometimes you have a horse with good stamina but you get traits you may not like. Both a good mind and stamina, along with cow sense are traits of TANQUERY GIN.”

Additional Notes:

  • Half-brother (by Sire) SIXES EYESA who ran in the 2014 AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch.
  • Road to the Horse 2012 Co-Champion Guy McLean selected VALLIANT PADDY to take the championship title, a colt he now calls ‘AUSSIE’. The dam of VALLIANT PADDY was sired by TANQUERY GIN.
