Don’t miss the Road to the Horse Retreat at The Ranch at NRS in Decatur, Texas, May 8–10! Ride alongside Road to the Horse World Champion Stacy Westfall and Road to the Horse 2026 Championship Competitor Ryan Rose where you will build confidence, refine your horsemanship, and test your skills on the Road to the Horse 2026 obstacle course.

This retreat focuses on obstacle skills and confidence building for both horse and rider. Together, you’ll develop greater trust and communication while working through practical challenges designed to strengthen your partnership. From the rider’s mental strategies to improving the horse’s body control and responsiveness, the weekend is designed to help both you and your horse grow in confidence. Road to the Horse World Champion Stacy Westfall: Stacy Westfall is a National Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee whose career blends elite performance horsemanship with championship-level colt starting. She first captured worldwide attention riding bridleless and bareback to Live Like You Were Dyin’ by Tim McGraw, and later made history as the first woman to win the Road to the Horse World Championship. Today, Westfall shares her experience with riders around the world, teaching both the technical skills and the mindset needed to build clearer communication, stronger partnership, and greater confidence with their horses.

Road to the Horse Championship Competitor Ryan Rose: Ryan Rose is a respected horsemanship specialist, professional horse trainer, and clinician known for his ability to help riders build stronger partnerships with their horses. With more than 20 years of experience, he has trained thousands of horses—including difficult horses and wild mustangs—and shares his knowledge with a global audience through clinics, workshops, and online education. Influenced by renowned horsemen such as Pat Parelli, Doug Jordan, and Craig Johnson, Ryan’s philosophy emphasizes trust, communication, and connection, helping riders create confident, willing horses.

One riding participant spot with one horse, Three nights of accommodation at The Ranch at NRS, Three days of instruction from RTTH Clinicians, All meals, Trail ride alongside clinicians, RTTH swag bag with official merchandise, Educational presentations, Equestrian yoga workshop, Cowboy Church, Entry into the Road to the Horse Retreat Obstacle Course Challenge.

Additional Retreat Options

  • Day Hauler – $550 per day or $1,500 for all three days. Riding participant. Haul in and out with your horse while enjoying full access to riding instruction and all retreat activities with your horse—join for a single day or all three.
  • Day Auditor – $350 per day. Non-riding participant. Day passes available Friday and/or Saturday. Sunday is open to the public as participants take on the RTTH Obstacle Course Challenge.

Note: Please reach out for pricing to bring a non riding guest or an additional horse. Please contact RTTH office for details. Housing options are a shared bunkhouse but private single and multi room cabins are available on request.

Clinic Schedule:

  • Thursday, May 7: Arrive, get settled in with your horse, and make yourself at home on the ranch.
  • Friday, May 8: We kick off at 8:00 AM with a relaxed meet-and-greet, giving you time to connect with our clinicians and fellow riders, followed by an arena warm-up. Clinic sessions with Stacy Westfall and Ryan Rose will run throughout the day, with riders divided into two small groups of five to allow for individualized, hands-on instruction in a supportive setting. We’ll wrap up the day with engaging presentations and supper.
  • Saturday, May 9: Early risers can start the day with an equestrian-focused fitness and yoga session led by instructor and author Ally McCrory, followed by breakfast. Stacy Westfall and Ryan Rose will each host a round pen demonstration—Ryan focusing on starting a horse at liberty, and Stacy covering the fundamentals of bridleless riding. After a warm-up, riders will spend the day in immersive clinic sessions. The afternoon transitions into indoor presentations and a group supper.
  • Sunday, May 10: Begin your morning with Cowboy Church, followed by a hearty breakfast. Then saddle up and ride the NRS Ranch alongside our RTTH clinicians. You’ll have the opportunity to test your skills on the official Road to the Horse 2026 obstacle course, with personalized coaching from clinicians and special guests—and a chance to compete for exclusive awards. Riders can also revisit the course to work through any challenges with guidance from Stacy and Ryan.
