The Purpose of the Road to the Horse Colt Starting Competition
The purpose of Road to the Horse is to identify the superior colt starter who accumulates the highest score throughout the competition. Judging focuses on the competitor and the effectiveness of their horsemanship methodology to communicate, educate, and build a partnership with their colt based on trust.
Competitor Selection
Thank you for your interest in competing at Road to the Horse. There are three ways an individual may be awarded a competitor position at Road to the Horse. Firstly, a colt starter may receive an invitation from the Road to the Horse Horseman’s Selection Committee. Secondly, an applicant may be selected after filling out the application form below. Lastly, they may earn an invitation to the Championship Competition, by winning a Road to the Horse Wild Card event.
In order to select the very best colt starters, Road to the Horse assembled an elite group of equestrians that make up the Horseman’s Selection Committee. These knowledgeable committee members, who are experts in their field, will research and review each application. The selection committee may reach out for additional information or video footage. After carefully examining each applicant, the committee will make their selections.
Individuals who wish to compete at Road to the Horse should complete the application below. Once an application has been received, it will be kept on file for all future events. An applicant does not require resubmission for consideration in the following years, unless they wish to provide updated information.
