Road to the Horse Welcomes Anthony Lucia as 2026 Event Host

Road to the Horse will return to the Kentucky Horse Park March 19–22, 2026, continuing its legacy as the World Championship of Colt Starting. Known for celebrating horsemanship, heritage, and the stories that connect horsemen and horsewomen around the world, Road to the Horse is proud to welcome Anthony Lucia as a new event host for 2026.

“I’ve been watching Road to the Horse since its inception, and I’ve always been a fan of the horsemanship and the genuine love for the horse that’s on display at the event,” stated Anthony Lucia. “To now have the opportunity to be part of the team and experience it firsthand is truly a dream come true.”

Anthony Lucia brings a lifelong passion for the western lifestyle—its people, its livestock, and its traditions—to the Road to the Horse stage. One of four sons of Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Tommy Lucia, Anthony was raised in professional rodeo and immersed in the sport from a young age. His deep understanding of the equine community, combined with his ability to engage today’s audiences, make him a natural fit for Road to the Horse. Anthony will serve as the Official Host, supported by Horseman’s Host Dan James.

“Anthony Lucia’s authenticity, professionalism, and deep respect for the equine industry make him an outstanding addition to the Road to the Horse team,” said Tina Battock, President of Morris Media Network. “His dedication to horsemanship and his genuine love for the horse shine through.”

Anthony began trick roping at just nine years old and earned his Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association card in 2009, performing at major rodeos across the nation, including the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Driven by a desire to both entertain and educate fans, he earned his PRCA Announcer endorsement in 2011 and has since built a standout career as one of the industry’s most respected voices.

Over the past decade, Anthony has announced premier events across the country, including the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, The American Rodeo, the Cinch Timed Event Championships at the Lazy E Arena, Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo, Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale, Utah’s Days of ’47 Rodeo, and multiple PRCA Circuit Finals. His career highlights also include announcing the Breakaway Roping National Finals and his selection to announce the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

In recognition of his impact and excellence, Anthony was named PRCA Announcer of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025. In 2025, he also received the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Announcer of the Year award, further cementing his reputation as one of the sport’s most trusted and celebrated announcers.
