Where is the event located?
The Wild Card Challenge will be held in the Cowtown Coliseum, in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, in Fort Worth, Texas.
What is the Wild Card Challenge?
Road to the Horse returns to the Cowtown Coliseum to present the first dedicated Wild Card Challenge showcasing six talented colt starters and untouched colts from the 6666 Ranch. Witness the entire journey, from colt selection to the final obstacle course. The colt starting challenge focuses on the competitor and the effectiveness of their horsemanship techniques to communicate, build trust, and develop a partnership with their colt. Enjoy bonus clinics and entertainment from world-class horse trainers.
Who are the Wild Cards?
The Wild Cards are Amanda Wilson, Kelsey Love Thomas, Nate Either, Lee Hart, Danial Oliveira and J.R. Robles.
Who are the Judges?
The Wild Card judges are Barbra Schulte, Punk Cater, Eric Hoffmann, Jesse Westfall and Jeff Williams (Head Judge).
What is the format for the event?
There are six Wild Cards, and colts from the 6666 Ranch. The event will follow the same format as Road to the Horse. Wild Cards will be broken up into two groups, a morning session, and a noon session. During each session, there will be three round pens in the arena, where three Wild Cards compete at once. This allows the judges to focus on three competitors at a time. The Wild Cards will rotate round pens each day, allowing fans an up-close view of each Wild Card from their seat.

My Wild Card 3-day ticket states it is valid from September 23-25. The schedule states the Wild Card Challenge starts on September 22. Do I need a ticket for September 22?
The main ticketed event of the Wild Card Challenge runs from September 23-25, 2022. Thursday September 22 is a bonus day for fans to enjoy educational clinics, and to meet the 6666 Ranch Remuda. All Thursday activities is free to the public, there are no allocated seats, and no event ticket is required.
What types of tickets are available?
Each single ticket, is a three-day pass for every minute of colt starting action. Unlike Road to the Horse 2021, seating is now allocated in the general seating area. Purchase your tickets early for the best seats. There are 4 types of tickets available at the Wild Card Challenge.
- General Seating: General allocated seating in the main stands.
- Silver Spur Seating: Box seating at the front row around the arena.
- Gold Buckle Seating: Padded leather seats, front row, and the center of the area, with lots of perks!
- VIP Experience Seating: Top tier seating, for the best view, with lots of perks!
Are VIP Tickets Available?
Yes. There are two types of VIP Tickets available at the Wild card Challenge.

My receipt specifics I bought more tickets than I wanted? Why did this happen?
Unlike previous Road to the Horse events, you will have an electronic ticket for each ticketed day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). This will eliminate the need for an event wristband. Each 3-day pass ticket, will show individually on your receipt. Please call the box office or Road to the Horse office with any questions.
Can I exchange my seats?
No, tickets can not be exchanged, and are nonrefundable. However, your Wild Card Challenge tickets are worry-free. Should the event be cancelled due to local government COVID regulations, your ticket will be refunded.
What happens in the event that a Wild Card Challenger is changed?
In the event of a competitor substitution, event tickets are non-refundable. Tickets are purchased to the event in its entirety, rather than a dedicated appearance of a specific Wild Card competitor.
Are Tickets good for the entire event?
Yes, a single ticket admits one person for all 3 days of the main event, Friday through Sunday.
Why isn’t my Road to the Horse login info working for purchasing tickets?
The Wild Card Competition is through the Cowtown Coliseum and isn’t connected at all to the Road to the Horse ticket platform or the Road to the Horse website directly. So when purchasing tickets you’ll need to create a new account through Cowtown Coliseum to process your tickets.

Do you need volunteers?
You must be over 21 years of age and available during the entire event and 1 days prior to.
What is a Road to the Horse Roadie Member?
A Road to the Horse Roadie member is an annual membership with special perks for Road to the Horse fans. Roadie members have the ability to buy their tickets early, special discounts on Road to the Horse merchandise, early entry into the event and special close up parking at our Kentucky event.
What if my Roadie membership expires after I purchase my tickets but before the event?
Your membership will have to be renewed before the event in order to take advantage of the many benefits.
Can I bring a guest with me during the Roadie early entry period?
Yes. A current Roadie Member may bring (1) guest with them during early entry.
As a Roadie Member how many tickets can I purchase?
Only Roadie members can purchase up to 8 tickets.
